Friday August 22
At 4:00 on Friday afternoon, we arrived at St. Ignace, the city situated on the north side of the Mackinac Bridge and the gateway to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. It took us over three days to cycle through Wisconsin, a state of many hills. The two day trek through Michigan's Upper Peninsula was relatively flat--mercifully--and the route to St. Ignace from Escanaba was very direct. We've almost reached the 600 mile mark and, after a day of relaxing tomorrow, we plan to start cycling in the Lower Peninsula on Sunday morning. Several people continue to ask us about why we're riding and in Gould, Michigan certain residents found out about our cause and donated $50.00 in pledges.; in fact, a reporter interviewed Mike, so our story will be in the local newspaper.
